UNION STATION

Union Station is a beautiful, historic landmark with a rich history of expansion and renovation since its construction in 1927. The Modern Georgian Revival style building offers a passenger-rail station, restaurants, a variety of shops, and event spaces.

Available Spaces

The Union Station event spaces offer the perfect setting for weddings, parties, and other special events. With a main ballroom that can accommodate 300 banquet-style, 150 in the smaller banquet hall and 60 in The Skylight Room, you’ll have plenty of room for any event! Also, if an outdoor space is more what’s desired then we also have the Patio or Concourse!

Main Ballroom

The Main Ballroom rents for $800 + $200 refundable deposit = $1,000. Seats approximately 300 banquet style.

Smaller Banquet Room

The Smaller Banquet Room rents for $400 + $200 refundable deposit = $600. Seats approximately 150 banquet style.

Skylight Room

The Skylight Room rents for $250 + $200 refundable deposit = $450. Seats approximately 60 banquet style.

Patio & Concourse

The Patio and Concourse are available for rentals but some restrictions apply. Please contact us for more information.

Rental Information

The rental fee is for the use of the space only for a period of 24 consecutive hours. ALL Building access times must be arranged. You can download the registration packet for more information.

The rental fee does not include tables, chairs, catering, decorations, etc. JRA does not provide or arrange for furnishings or other amenities.

A $200 discount is available for the Main Ballroom ONLY—attach written request to completed information form with deposit and copy of one of the following: IRS 501 (c) 3 non-profit status. Government ID.

Additional charges are applicable for holiday weekend dates.

Additional Information

Parking

Effective March 2019, parking in the lots across from and/or near Union Station will need to be arranged with the parking vendor Parking Management Services, Mr. Paul Nichols 601-395-1095, pnichols@pmsinc.com

No parking or loading is allowed on the brick patio on the corner of Mill and Capitol Streets (outside the ballrooms)

Smoking

Smoking is NOT allowed inside the Union Station facility.

Event Insurance & Security

 In addition to the deposit and rental fee, the Lessee is also require to provide: 

a) Proof of General Liability Insurance (event insurance) in the form of a Certificate of Insurance to JRA. Liquor Liability coverage: If ANY beverage containing alcohol will be brought onto the Union Station premises, the Certificate of Insurance must also include Liquor Liability coverage. See the JRA Union Station Insurance instructions for specific coverage amounts and wording of named additional insured and address. Contact your personal insurance agent or an online event insurance vendor for special event insurance coverage. 

b) Direct Payment to 2 off-duty JPD Police Officers. Due to the necessity of specific security protocols for our facility, building access and event security officers shall be arranged for and cleared through our correspondent with JPD. The security process includes planning security coverage and building access for anytime those associated with your event will be on the premises (for set-up, the actual event, post-event close out, etc.) 

c) All rental fees payable to JRA, the Certificate of Insurance for your event, and confirmed information for both security officers is due as soon as possible but no less than 30 days in advance of your event. 

Reservations & Voided Requests

  1. Rental space is reserved by JRA upon receipt of a completed “Union Station Rental General Information” form AND evidence of a security deposit payment via money order or bank cashier’s check on a “first received/first scheduled” basis. Temporary images of these items are accepted by email 24/7, however, the originals should be mailed same day via first class mail so that the postmark date coincides with the email date.
  2. Confirm that the date you are requesting is available PRIOR TO making your payment payable to JRA.
  3. All reservation requests are subject to review and approval by JRA and finalized with an official Union Station Rental Agreement signed by the renter of the space(s) AND JRA.
  4. For reservation requests less than 30 days prior to an event, all fees and required paperwork are due at the time of booking and the deposit is non-refundable.
  5. VOIDED REQUESTS: Inquiries and reservation requests are considered VOID after 3 business days if no response is received to confirm interest in the proposed date with a completed

Confirm that the date you are requesting is available PRIOR TO making your payment payable to JRA.

Refunds & Cancellations

ALLOW 30 DAYS FOR REFUNDS OF ANY TYPE.

  • Security Deposit refunds are based on our post-event custodial assessment.

CANCELLATIONS: To be eligible for a deposit refund, written notice of cancellation must be received in the JRA office not less than 30 days prior to your scheduled event date.

Viewing

To have a space unlocked for a closer inspection, please make a viewing appointment.

Viewing appointments are available Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays between 10am and 2pm, unless arranged otherwise. (Note: If convenient for you, 10:45am on Wednesdays is generally a good time for us to arrange for the event space to be opened for viewing.)

Reply via email with your choice of two dates and times for viewing.

Allow at least 48-hour advance notice for scheduling and confirmation of a viewing appointment.

Other Pertinent Information

To make a reservation, the “Union Station Special Event Rentals” packet is available upon request. Please reply ASAP to request the reservations packet.

Follow-up with a phone call to JRA at (601) 960-1815 to advise of any information sent to JRA.

The JRA office is not located at Union Station. An appointment is necessary to ensure the appropriate staffer is available.

Event transactions are normally handled from 10am to 2pm Monday thru Friday by email, postal mail, or by appointment.

JRA reserves the right to revise as needed any information presented.
